The official final quarter of 2024 commenced today. Describe what the end is going to be. I keep accountability partners. One of them is my Godsister Alisha. We "schedule" monthly to not just discuss but create an action plan in our God goals. At this point in our lives, we agree if it isn't for the benefit of the KINGdom, it doesn't get our time.
Below is our verse for 2024:
Acts 20:24 NIV
[24] However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.
Today marked a reality for many that the majority of the year is complete. However, there are many items remaining. Our takeaway was to "Describe the Finish." I'm sure she doesn't mind, I'm going to share some of our meeting notes with the HERspace Blog. Let's all strategically endeavor to FINISH 2024 well.
#1. Finish FIRST. There is a way to start and finish & that's first. Matthew 6:33 says to seek FIRST the Kingdom of God and His righteousness & everything else would be added to us. God first in our way, day and every consideration is the set up for well finishes. Most of us begin our day with God but what about in our decisions, work and interactions? I'm currently building something bigger than me. I had a meeting regarding the matter & something was just missing... Afterwards, I prayed about it and heard this:
You didn't keep me FIRST. You rightfully considered Me in your planning but when it came time to meet, I needed the invitation to reign. By inviting Me in the meeting (whether it's deemed ministry or not), it sets the precedent. So how does one invite God into a business meeting? I typically begin truthfully about the process with those present that He guides this ship (in short). 😊 As an aside, the flow went well post reestablishing the order of FIRST.
When I thought about it, this is the flow for both personal and professional areas for me. Before I teach, preach or say anything on behalf of the business He has given, I first ask what He desires for me to do or say. It's His flow, agenda, & way for all things.
#2. Set the priority. Your list may be long but all isn't necessary to finish today. Prioritize what is and work it until it's complete. Here's a suggestion, consider the three R's.
Rest - we're actually to work from a place of rest. I spent the month of September studying silence. Specifically, silence before God. Several scriptures discuss obtaining instruction from the Father comes via silence, rejuvination, strength, & overall clarity (inbox me for the verses) are all byproducts. Believers are actually to work from a place of rest not toil (ex. configuring or angst). The rest begins in the mind. It's the understanding, God has "it" & I can pause in His presence to gain strength (Isaiah 41:1). Adrenaline can mirror strength. The key difference is when your strength is gained from rest you complete (FINISH). When you're getting strength from the adrenaline hormone, you will crash. In prioritizing everything else, include you in it.
Relationship - praying over or for the work God has given you or in your serving (family, in official ministry capacities or roles generally) do not equate to having a relationship with the Father. Matthew 7 shares about WORKERS who stated everything they DID for God. However, His response was depart from Me you workers of iniquity, I never knew you.
Knowledge or having a relationship denotes intimacy. Our to do list of good works will not be an entry ticket into Heaven, the work is the least we can do. With that said, as you prioritize your do, don't forget to maintain relationship with the Father. Sit in His presence. Talk to Him beyond "the list." Worship because He's worthy. Pray for others. Read the Word. & don't forget the silence, this is where the strength & strategy will actually come.
Then do the rest (i.e. work). After you're in a state of rest & relationship is set as 1st, time to work.
A golden rule for my Godsister & I is avoid oversharing & keep the shares to need to know people. Here's why, I've shared before that Dopamine is released when we talk about things that excite us. The issue is that is the high for many and it never shifts past just talk. FINISH FIRST, then your work will speak for you.
#3. Be accountable & keep it real. Find just one that you can hold yourself accountable to with whatever you're going to finish in 2024. Be real about the slow days or just "no" days... pick yourself back up and do it until it's done.
Homework: this week YOU describe your finish. What is the end of this year going to look like for you? As a bonus, affirm over yourself daily in what you're working for & say it until you see it.
THIS HERspace Blog is for the "well finishers," let's go! 💪🏾 #October1
