Exclusivity

Updated: Apr 4

Hello HERspace! It's April 1 & we have so much to catch up on. I'll begin with, you were created to love God's Way.

You all know I love a good word. Exclusivity means restriction to one. As I was reflecting on this first day of April & official 80 days to summer. The theme of starting and finishing arose.

When I looked at this picture, depending on the angle, it can appear to be a 7. When people begin, often due to excitement, they treat it as a finish. Making announcements, celebration after celebration etc.

For those that follow college basketball, USC had a recent game where a three was shot on the buzzer causing them to win by 1 point. Prior to the win, I watched them pan the camera to the fans of the then "winning team" & they were in full celebration literally seconds before. Taunting, hugging and cheering: CHAMPIONS. Now these same individuals were in full devastation. Crying and in shock. We'll come back to this...

I still believe as we enter into a new month & quarter, the Lord intends for this leap year to be unprecedented for His children. He will blow on our little making it much. Goals, promises, and many long-awaited matters will come to pass this year for those that stay His course. Some will cover personal terrain that would normally take significant time & accomplish it in historic time.

BUT....

It's important not to confuse the 1s & 7s.

Learn to differentiate a Start from a Finish. They both take strategy. They both take wisdom.

On day one, whether this is literally day one or the start of something new for you, take inventory. Who & what is needed? Returning to our word of the day & month, exclusivity is the restriction to one.

Our starts aren't meant for many. Starting is sacred and fragile. Motivation, encouragement, and just the right push is necessary. #1, day one, firsts aren't for announcement. Just do it until it's complete... the official Finish status. Telling who & what is necessary only. This is wisdom I don't have time to breakdown...take it for free.

I often relate #1 or starts with love. It's often fresh, fun, and filled with hope. However, the wrong eyes & hands can bring on contamination bringing it to a demise before making any true progress. Similar to operating or recovery rooms...restriction is vitality.

Hopefully, the point is being drawn. Restrict your starts to the exclusive.

I was sharing with a friend today, that it is a known state with some seniors that just before they finish (graduate)...they don't. Especially those who have a history whether personal or familial of not completing. Distractions, self-destruction, or history repeating are often common themes in the way.

Three common themes:

  1. Distractions - people, places, & things opposing the goal placed as an obstacle or hindrance to progress. As we're the only ones that can ultimately stop us in the path to completion.

  2. Self-Descruction or Self-sabatoge- typically begins in the mind that turns to action that bleeds against the will or purpose.

  3. Repeated cycles - Statistically if you're a FIRST...trailblazer...INNOVATOR of any kind, expect resistance. For example, statistically, if everyone in your family stopped school at a certain point. Expect to be challenged in this area.

Take inventory of the themes above & adopt God's winning strategy. The guaranteed way to overcome all of the mentioned states is to know the way (Jesus), set the goal and keep going until it's complete.

As we wrap Day 1, think of your Start to Finish like love. Build wisely. Operate exclusively. & remember to celebrate the completion (7) only.

WATCH the aforementioned game clip.

I want to end with, the winning team thought it was over.

At 11 seconds the team just left the huddle with their coach giving them strategy; subsequently, the opposing team made a shot when given the opportunity putting them another point ahead.

With 1:1 seconds remaining, take note of the court (life). There were loud shouters around the team -- some celebrating defeat while others in support. However, at this intense finishing time, the shouts all sound the same.

Have you noticed, when you're in a pivotal time of decision making, it's often difficult to differentiate which way to go when everyone has an opinion especially if the advice (voices) seems sound or logical? I believe the Lord allows this to make us dependent on His voice. He has a way...& it often opposes logic & man. Man has a way & it may seem correct but it will always lead to destruction.

At just ONE second remaining -- the coach made a game changing decision to "shout" to the one teammate open who never made a 3...to shoot. They needed just the right shot & position/posture to win.

Two significant points here, the player had to "silence the noise" of those celebrating their finish to hear the coach. She had to be in just the right position/posture to win. She was tuned in. Her teammates also had to have their head in the game to follow "the coach's" flow & command to pass the ball.

Making this analogous to us, the coach is the Holy Spirit there to guide. He has a vantage point that is often not seen by the players. It's vital to listen in, stay focused & tuned in to Him to hear any final calls that will change the game. Also note, a "shout" from the coach in an intense game likely sounded like a whisper, possibly no sound at all or worse just like the other crowd of noise. The team had to read lips, body language and be sure to focus on the coach to know what to do. Trusting her stance & experience exceeded their current state. This day, week, and coming 80 days to season NEXT, silence the noise. Tune into the coach. Nothing and no one else matters. Distractions are nigh. & they will be great & increase especially the closer you are to the finish line. Remember sometimes that distraction may be you. Therefore, be sure to silence the noise in your head.

How?

Glad you asked.

I read last week, Eastern meditation dumps or empties the mind. While Christian meditation fills it. Eastern meditation is detachment while Christian meditation is attachment to God. ATTACH...CLING to Jesus like never before. This practice will make you keen & clear.

YOU are the player. It doesn't matter if you're the bench onlooking (the wise likely praying), the starters defending the team & listening for the coach's instruction, or the shooter who was discounted & therefore unguarded ...the opposers watched the player make the shot because "they" didn't believe it was possible. The coach understood the assignment. The Lord often uses the unseen or unlikely to accomplish His goals. In order to know when it's time to shoot the last shot...be sure to stay tuned!

EVEN the announcer, said it was over. Over the intercom, the televised national news..."they" had come into agreement with the crowd. THEY = MAJORITY. Simply put, ignore they. Don't come into agreement with any crowd that opposes what God has spoken for your season & life. You have to be intentional to disregard on this level. Prayer, Fasting, laser focus, surrounding yourself with God's exclusive team (often not many) & doing whatever it takes to fulfill that God promise.

When God finishes the fixed fight for you, the moment..."the win" will announce itself.

This moment was so prophetic. The undefeated team maintained their title. Similar to this natural team, we don't know what the season may bring. No matter what...TRUST GOD. As Believers, we always win no matter what it looks like.

Happy April 💕!

So good!!! I was thinking this isn’t the same from this mornin!! So good especially…….Have you noticed, when you're in a pivotal time of decision making, it's often difficult to differentiate which way to go when everyone has an opinion especially if the advice (voices) seems sound or logical?
