Love is...

It's LOVE week ❤️!!!

I wanted to start us out with some conversation. First, love is powerful. Pastor Bryant shared with our church today Mark 2:1-7. This account is of a sick man who was carried by his friends to Jesus for healing. Verse five says when Jesus saw "their Faith" i.e. his friends, He replied your sins are forgiven. In other words, the man's healing was due to the love, carrying, & standing in the gap of his friends.

There are many Biblical accounts where people have prayed, cried and stood in the gap for another which resulted in his or her healing.

I wrote in, "Love God's Way" that love is a choice action. In other words, love is an intentional & personal decision followed by tangible effort. The effort is not predicated on reciprocation. Love stands alone but naturally enhances when returned.

Before I heard the sermon this morning, I knew I'd write this post. & if I had to describe love, it would be healing. I reflect on personal instances of receiving and giving love God's way that almost always manifested healing.

John 3:16 says "for God so LOVED the world that He "gave" His only Son..."

Heavy emphasis on the giving with nothing in return. We're often taught in relationships whether romantic, platonic, familial, friendships, or foes to expect a return. Or he or she needs to "match my energy." This is not the Biblical model for what love is...

The great thing about God, when you LOVE His way and give it to the deserving & not so kind, He always has a way of giving you a return and keeping your love tank full. We should all endeavor to Love God'sWay.

As you reflect before all the slated games today, how do you define love? Share what LOVE is to you in the comments.

Stay tuned daily this week! We will be starting the conversation on Love God's Way ❤️. #Loveweek
